Hey!

Yours truly

[EN] After a long argument between different interests the city hotel of Enköping was eventually demolished. The hotel opened in 1879 and some parts were in use until the late 90's. The structural damages were obvious to anyone passing by and a restoration would have been very extensive. Now a three or four story building with flats and shops is planned here and the question whether demolishing was the right thing or not something for history to judge.

We visited the hotel during one of the last days in its life. The extension from 1940 was already gone but the very epicentre of the building – the ballroom and the neon sign – was still there, luckily.
